Bomet and Sotik Markets Sheds and Relocated
The Department has completed and allocated Bomet and Sotik markets sheds and relocated all the traders from the shanties and roadside kiosks
Opening of Fresh Produce Market in Bomet Town
The department made the most transformative undertaking in March 2018 by relocating the traders from road reserve and stage to the new market. This transformation was done in the main towns of Bomet and Sotik. The department successfully settled over 500 traders in Bomet and over 160 in Sotik. It is evident that Bomet town being situated along the main transport corridor has got a new look. During the month of April 2018, traders in Mogogosiek were able to move to their designated new market
Completed 11 Public Toilet in Various Markets
The Department has completed 11 public toilet in various markets, namely; Mulot, Chebole, Kapset, Kimulot, Longisa, Mogogosiek, Cheptalal, Ndanai, Siongiroi, Silibwet and Sigor
The Department also completed 1ST and 2ND phase of Bomet sewerage and treatment works (collaborative efforts, provision of way-leaves through purchase, survey and mapping)
The Department has acquired survey equipment and a total of 49 parcels of land were surveyed and most of them were beaconed. Land Banks for expansion of markets and Public utilities has been created with a total of 65 parcels of land acquired so far.
